Calligram

For the CS Package project we are expected to create a calligram book in order to illustrate the poem “London” by William Blake.

So far I’ve only managed to create 2 calligrams based on the first 4 lines of the poem. The poem is quite hard to understand, however, after some further research into it I now understand it a lot better. The first 4 lines talk about how Blake walked through London, near the River Thames, and each person he passed had pain and misery written across their face.

Therefore, for the first 2 pages of my book I decided to create a calligram showing the River Thames, and a sad, hurt boy sitting by a brick wall.
